I started on Pulse FM 103 and made my way to Freedom FM, I also worked on CKR ( Carlow Kildare Radio ) in Carlow and Dublin’s FM104. Having DJ’d for a number of years, you are more inclined these days to see be delivering your post!! Join me every Saturday from 2pm for the best memories of the 90s and Noughties!
Soooo…started out about 20 years ago ? after injuring myself playing with Liverpool so took the next logical step…radio (obviously). Worked in East Coast FM and FM104 before I had a life changing event
Growing up in a fairly music-obsessed house, dJ’ing was always something that appealed to me, doing my first gigs aged 13 (for free btw Mr. Tax man). Fast forward to my late teens, and the musical obsession had fully taken hold. Regularly gigging at that stage, I had always wanted to try to get into radio, and the Freedom lads took a chance, giving me a daily weekday show.
I first joined the freedom crew way back in the day! I actually don’t know the date but I was around 15 when I first visited the shed…..
I currently present a pop music programme on Monday between 6pm and 8pm UK/IRL time where I play the best in music from the 90s and noughties and include two features: ‘This week in the 90s and noughties’, revisiting headlines from that period, and ‘Birthday Share’, highlighting which celebrities and famous people you share your birthday with.
I started on Freedom, purely by chance. I was an avid listener, I plucked up the courage and called up Kyran Murray one Sunday, to request “Gala, Freed from Desire “; We clicked. Not long after, I was answering his phone for him!
