Sean Power aka Simon Davis!….so where do i start! Rewind to the days of CB radio, staying up to strange hours to try and talk to random strangers from around the world on 27mhz!
“So here I am, back where it all started on radio for me about 23 years ago with the Freedom crew. Things were very different back then. It was around 1998, I was playing in clubs around Dublin at the time but couldn’t pass the opportunity to join Simon and Andy and the rest of the freedom family on this fantastic station. I stayed at Freedom for around 2 years and moved on to Hot Radio and eventually Nova Dance but as time went on and djing became more popular the scene became saturated and I moved away from it. Older (yes) and wiser (no) have I become since then? Move forward almost 20 years and the team is back bigger and better and no cold shed to sit in either 🙂
I started my radio gig way back as a 17 year old from Mrs Powers shed in Dublin on Freedom FM in 1998. She made savage tea and lovely sambos too. They’re badly missed!
Origionaly from Clonmel in Tipperary Eamonn can be heard on Radio Stations across Ireland and the UK and also DJ's across the country. Eamonn always had a huge love of music with Armin Van Buuren and Tiesto as his influences Eamonn brings his personality and passion to Freedom FM where he presents The Friday Night Mix from 8-10pm
I started on Freedom, purely by chance. I was an avid listener, I plucked up the courage and called up Kyran Murray one Sunday, to request “Gala, Freed from Desire “; We clicked. Not long after, I was answering his phone for him!
I Joined the freedom FM crew when I was only about 17 years old. I sent in a letter ( yes, a letter, with like an actual pen) into the mark Brennan show asking him to play ” olive – you’re not alone”. Just so happens, my geography teacher at the time heard my request on the radio and told me she knew mark. Long story short, Mark Brennan and DJ power arranged for me to come down to the freedom FM studio to sit in on one of the shows. I was so quiet and shy at the time, but Louise Jordan took me under her wing.
